49-06 heavily-plated mirror from the Carp Lake

The coveted heavily-plated mirror came out for the first time in 2 years on November 2nd at its highest ever weight of 49-06.

The captor was Rob Burrage who was fishing close in and who just 3 weeks before had broken the Wingham record with a 54-12.

Together with the 50-11 common caught earlier this year this could mean that the Carp Lake could well hold 3 different 50s next spring!

Here’s a picture of this fish at 23lb in summer 2000. It was stocked as a three year old at 8-08.

Other notable catches this month include another 85lb+ weekend brace (his 5th!) to Matt Jones with a 42-04 common and a 43-04 mirror.

Plus new member Jason Woods scored on his first-ever trip to Wingham, a quick overnighter, and landed a PB common at 46lbs. So Jason joins the other members of the “Wingham Virgins” club who catch a 40 at their first attempt.

Record bream from the Main Lake

Keith Carter has done it again! A few weeks after his fabulous tench haul Keith landed a monster bream, only the second from Wingham this season. It weighed 18-09 on one set of scales, 18-07 on another. Quite rightly Keith settled for the lower weight, but that’s still 1oz over the Wingham record.
